A personal perspective
Michael McKillop won the Paralympic gold medal for 800m in Beijing in 2008, and broke the 800m and 1500m World Records at the IPC World Championships in January 2011. He has mild hemiplegic cerebral palsy and competes in the T37 category. Michael will talk about his early development, his training and achievements and how a boy whose mild cerebral palsy meant he was late to start walking became a man who can run 800m in under 2 minutes. Michael is currently sponsored by Leckey and will also be on Leckey’s stand, giving out medals to children and chatting to kids, parents and therapists.
