With funding of £29,2718 from national agency Capacitybuilders, Disabled Living are
increasing the availability of office space available to local voluntary and community
organisations in Manchester.
By relocating staff and volunteers to the entrance level of the building Disabled Living
can now release three offices for use by local groups. In addition they plan to
refurbish existing meeting and training rooms and upgrade facilities to include the
latest wi-fi and audio visual equipment.
Commenting on the grant award, Mark Reading said: “This investment means that
Disabled Living can make their facilities and services more accessible to the wide
range of charities and voluntary groups across the local area.”
Debra Evans, Chief Executive, Disabled Living said: “Disabled Living is delighted to
receive this grant from Capacitybuilders. The location of our premises, in the heart of
Manchester and only 5 minutes from Victoria Station, ensures that our recently
refurbished community rooms and office accommodation is extremely accessible to
all. In addition, visitors to Disabled Living can also receive the most up to date
information and advice on equipment and products to enable disabled and older
people to maintain their independence and improve their quality of life.” END. [204 words]
