Volunteers
At Disabled Living
we value our team of volunteers for their hard work and enthusiasm, and greatly
appreciate their continued support.
With the valuable
help of volunteers we have achieved great success with our "Kidz up North"
exhibition and other events, not forgetting vital jobs
to support our services "back at base". As one of our team of volunteers here at
Disabled Living we hope to make your experience with us enjoyable, rewarding and
varied.
We welcome any level
of support, from an occasional few hours to a regular commitment
If you are

Thank You
Thank you to
our Volunteers who every year help support our services, events and help us raise much needed funds.
VOLUNTEER CO-ORDINATOR
| Hi my name
is David Edmondson and I am the Volunteer Co-ordinator for Disabled
Living. I am married to Gill and have two grown up children Stephen and
Fiona. Both are married and we have a grandson Andrew. I was lucky enough
to retire early from work in the December of 1996. Before retirement I was
the Safety and Fire Manager for a large international pharmaceutical
company with responsibilities both here and Europe. On retirement
Gill and I went to work for a well known travel company based here in
the north west firstly as campsite couriers during the summer months and
then as hosts to the older generation ( our own) providing entertainment
programmes in hotels in Tunisia and Spain. Several years ago we
bought ourselves a motor home in Canada and have spent the last few
summers exploring the west coast of Canada and a reasonable number of the
States in America. We finally gave up work in 2002 and spent our
summer as volunteers working for the Commonwealth games. (What a fantastic
experience). Before finishing work I had been in the Scout movement
for several years and was the District Commisioner for Hazel Grove
district. So volunteering and what one gets out of it was not a new
experience. Apart from my extensive world travelling (I have
restless feet), I can now devote my time to more volunteer work. If
anyone who has time on their hands and wants to do something that is both
fulfilling and satisfying please come and join our merry band of
volunteers or look around locally there are always things to
do. |
