Marketing Assistant

Job type: Full time – 35 hours per week

Hours: 10.30am to 6pm Monday to Thursday and 9.30am to 5pm Fridays. Hours may vary between 8am and 6pm to cover the service.

Holidays: 25 days + bank holidays

Brief description of company and role:

  • Marketing Assistant – with a focus on social media, blog posts and web content development

Disabled Living is a charity which provides impartial information about equipment and services for disabled adults, children, older people and the professionals who support them.

The organisation has transformed its purpose in recent years with its main focus to secure new and sustainable income streams from commercial activities, without losing sight of our charitable objectives.


We are looking for a creative individual to directly contribute to the productivity of Disabled Living’s activities at Redbank House.

This position will include content writing, marketing, research, income generation and generally supporting colleagues to achieve targets.

Based at Disabled Living’s Manchester office (Redbank House) you will promote various departments within the company with an additional focus on social media, blog posts and web content development.

Main duties:

  • Develop creative material and editorial content for website, blogs and publications
  • Work with all departments on business development, income generation and marketing activities
  • Assist with e-mail marketing, website CMS and CRM system
  • To support and execute the organisations marketing strategy, including social media
  • Undertake research & data analysis
  • Monitor and analyse the performance of marketing and PR activities
  • To undertake necessary administration and tasks to support the work of the team
  • Although position is primarily based at Redbank House, the successful candidate may be required to attend meetings at Disabled Living’s head office.

The person:

  • A team player
  • Reliable and trustworthy
  • Work creatively on own initiative, manage and prioritise workload.
  • Well presented, excellent communications skills, confident and a willingness to learn
  • Excellent knowledge of all MS office applications
  • Excellent knowledge of all social media platforms
  • Experience of using a website CMS (WordPress)
  • Knowledge of CRM system desirable, not essential
  • 2 years previous work experience in a similar role or a relevant degree
  • Ideally with a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle or be in this position within 12 months of appointment
  • Be prepared to undertake training and personal development to fulfil the role
